Saying Goodbye to a Piece of Chun Family History

 By Ally

In October of 1994, Walter came home with my mom and dad. Since then, he has become a very integral part of our family. He has found a way into all of our hearts throughout the years.

He has been a reliable and loyal companion, always doing his best to get us to work and school on time and safe. He did his best for as long as possible. But as he crept into old age, we noticed more things needing care and tending to. He spent more and more time sitting around. We could no longer take him on long trips with us in fear of overexerting him. We knew his time was coming soon.

Despite all the preventative care, letting him go became inevitable. This week we made the hard decision to put him to rest. We all will miss the adventures we had with Walter. He was there through it all. The soccer games and dance practices. The trips around the town while we were learning how to drive. The good days and the bad days. He had such an impact on not only our lives, but the lives of our friends as well. The Hawaiian print coverings we got him soon became a staple amongst our friend groups and the first thing they would point out. The sweltering summer trips, singing songs with the windows down brought us all closer together.  And now, 26 years later it is time to say goodbye.

Goodbye Walter, you will be missed. You will always be a part of Chun Family history, going down as the best car we could have asked for.
